Elle magazine of Spain has named Costa Rica one of the most beautiful places in the world in a recent article titled Costa Rica, Green Paths: Welcome to one of the most beautiful places on Earth! Tell us something we DON'T know!
They mentioned many of the places that don't always get as much attention, including our national theater in the capitol, San Jose, Costa Rica for its architectural and cultural significance. The article also mentioned Cartago (near San José) along with multiple of the major national points of interest like the Irazu Volcano, The Cloud Forest Biological Reserve, The Arenal Volcano (and the surrounding area of La Fortuna), as well as the Rincon de la Vieja Volcano! Apparently they either made the decision without having made it to the coasts, or the coasts were so beautiful that they'll require a separate future article! Either way, we know Elle knows their stuff! Costa Rica truly is(are) the rich(est) coast(s) and we'd love to help you take part in the natural beauty and pristine wildlife that the nation offers. As the magazine mentions, we have 17 national parks and 7 biological reserves, making us the #1 nation for protected area at 25% of the national footprint! We may be small, but we have 58 microclimates and are home to 5% of the total species on the planet (how's THAT for awesome?)! That means there are 50,000 known species of creatures in an area less than one tenth of the size of Spain! And we are familiar with and capable of planning your trips to any corner of our small nation with BIG natural attractions! Yes, Costa Rica is a beautiful thing; Thanks for pointing it out, Elle!
