Meg McGuirePhotographer/Videographer/Logistics
English/Spanish/Basic German Meg was born in the United States and grew up in a small town where she spent a lot of time outdoors. She and her family hosted a South Korean exchange student from Chile which opened her eyes to a world of possibilities with language and travel. Meg got her own chance to travel and develop her language skills and savvy while living abroad in Barcelona, Spain, volunteering in Honduras, and through her travels in 18 countries (and counting)! Her nickname is "gypsy" for her traveling spirit and ability to find great travel deals and experiences which helped in the creation of Costa Rica Surf Trip's goal: to give customers the ultimate adventure and to allow them to create experiences that speak to their goals and dreams, while working within their budget. Her graduate degrees include a Masters of Architecture and a Masters of Spanish Language & Literature, a combination which proves extremely useful in her current endeavors with CRsurftrip and have allowed her to work as both an interpreter and translator for clients in the US and in Costa Rica. Meg attributes her love for Costa Rica to her Sustainable Design Studio at the Monteverde Institute where she studied in 2009 and assisted local activists in the design of a new community complex and the reuse of an existing community building. Meg has lived and worked in Costa Rica for many years and practiced as a real estate agent and headed the startup of a property management and rentals company, giving her great knowledge of Costa Rican law and business practices. She enjoys any and all outdoor activities and will try almost anything, at least once. Her first surf lesson was at age 11 in Hawaii (Mahalo!). Meg's desire to share her passion for travel has led to its documentation through writing and photography. She has developed the skill of capturing unique and personal moments which she puts to good use for clients hoping to have great memories at CRST with us. She considers herself a helper, a positive spirit, and an encourager. She believes in the Greater Good and it is likely her rebellious spirit, belief in Humanity, and love of nature that connect so well with the surf culture. |
